The hobbit is a really good book. This book talks about how Bilbo Baggins, the main character in the story, like to have a peaceful life but Gandalf, who is a wizard, interrupts his life. Gandalf invited him for tea and when arrived, there were 13 other dwarves with him. Bilbo didn’t know that Gandalf will take him to the biggest adventure of his life, were he will face elves, men who change into bears, goblins, and of course the scariest one, Smaug, who is a dragon. They are going on board of a journey to find the lost treasure that is protected by Smaug at the lonely mountain. On the journey. Bilbo and the dwarves face with all sorts of villains such as trolls, giant spiders, between other things.

I really like this book and I really hoped that I read the book before I saw the movie because since I had already seen the movie, then I already knew some of the most interesting moments. I think that this is one of the books that caches the reader’s attention and that doesn’t make you want to stop reading. For example, when I started reading the book I couldn’t stop reading the book until I got to the end of the chapters, and even though I finished a chapter it made me think what will happen next. Also, I think it made you want to leave were the hobbit leaves. I think that this book would be recommended for people who like fantasy/adventure and for people of any age. I really enjoyed reading this book and I hope you read it too… if you haven’t done it yet.

One of the conflict that occurs in the book is the conflict that Bilbo Baggins has with himself. Bilbo argued with himself of what he should do and why did he joined the perilous quest. This helped him learn about how wonderful adventures can be and how much he had changed over a year. Another conflict is that conflict that Bilbo and the dwarves have with nature. Throughout the story, the main characters fight against dragons, giant spiders, goblins, and darkness.

The title relates to the book because the hobbit, Bilbo Baggins, is the main character in the story and the title of the book is "The Hobbit".

I think that the theme from The Hobbit is good vs evil because based on what I have read from the book the good creatures make an effort for a peaceful existence, while the evil creatures cause suffering. In the novel, the search to reclaim the treasure is considered a right cause. Even Bilbo, a gentle hobbit unwilling  to get involved, is ultimately convinced to join the search because he believes it to be a noble mission.

The narrator from "The Hobbit" can not be fully identified, it is a voice that tells the story and interjects some parts as you go along. The book was supposedly written by Bilbo Baggins, one of the characters from the story and was translated by the author J.R.R Tolkien.

In the "The Hobbit" there are no real symbols nor a story that can be interpreted to reveal a hidden meaning, like a moral one. The author has said that he dislikes doing that but many people take his works as allegories. For example, some of the symbols that are in the story are Smaug which is a symbol of greed and quote. Another symbol in the book are the stone giants which I think represent the storms. A third symbol might be the hobbits, which represent dull and conventional people.

Bilbo Baggins is one of the main characters in the story. He is a well to do, well respected hobbit living in a comfortable, relaxing, and warm hole in the Hill.(A hobbit is about half the size of the human. They enjoy eating, drinking, and generally being happy and comfortable at home.). Gandalf is also one of the principle characters. One day, Bilbo was sitting outside of his house smoking when Gandalf came in. Gandalf comes in to Bilbo´s house every and again and stirs things up by telling wild stories and bringing young hobbits on adventures.

I chose this book because I want to read the series of "Lord of the Rings" in at least a year and the first book that is like an introduction to this series is "The Hobbit". I also chose this book because I saw the movie of the hobbit and I think it is a very interesting movie and since I saw the movie it got me interested in reading the book and the series. I hope it is a very interesting book and I also hope that I enjoy reading the series and the book.
